Tecma Aluminium specialises in the production of top-quality aluminium components for clients around the word who operate in a truly diverse sectors including transportation, renewalable energy, construction and medical devices. Since its foundation in 2006, the company has always grown steadily, not only in terms of production capacity, headcount and revenue but also in terms of an ever-improving ability to be the one-stop aluminium components shop of choice for demanding customers looking to simplify and streamline their production processes, thereby saving time and money.
With more and more companies buying into that one-stop-shop value proposition, Tecma has been able to take advantage of two noticeable industry trends and has therefore grown even more strongly over the last year, evidencing roughly 30% year-on-year growth from Q3 2022 to Q3 2023.
DEMAND DRIVEN BY THE GROWTH IN RENEWABLES
The first of these trends is surging demand for aluminium components for companies in the renewable energy sector. As governments worldwide continue to set challenging targets for a decarbonised economy, the energy sector has a vital role to play, hence the accelerating adoption of renewables. Tecma has tapped into this demand and is now producing more and more components for companies operating in this sector.
US MANUFACTURES RE-SOURCING TO EUROPE
The second trend working in Tecma’s favour is a growing willingness of manufacturers in the USA to source components produced in Europe. Why is this happening? While a weakening of the Euro vs. the US Dollar has certainly worked to the advantage of European companies looking to export their goods to the US, this is only part of the story. Continued geopolitical tensions between the US and China are leading to some American manufacturers taking a sharper interest in re-sourcing – switching away from a dependency on Chinese-made goods and looking for alternative sources elsewhere in the world. Tecma has certainly benefited from these developments.
NOT JUST BIGGER – MORE EFFICIENT!
So, what does this mean for Tecma’s production facility near Girona, Spain? Well, the results are pretty dramatic! In order to meet the growing demand resulting from these positive developments, Tecma’s has expanded the facility by 70% this year in terms of physical space occupied. Initially, the extra space was mainly used to handle the increased volume of materials needed. Quickly, however, the company was able to take advantage of the expanded floorspace to add more equipment and to continue making our production processes even more efficient for our clients.
We know that visitors to the expanded site will be impressed with the expanded space the opportunities it is opening up!
