The second trend working in Tecma’s favour is a growing willingness of manufacturers in the USA to source components produced in Europe. Why is this happening? While a weakening of the Euro vs. the US Dollar has certainly worked to the advantage of European companies looking to export their goods to the US, this is only part of the story. Continued geopolitical tensions between the US and China are leading to some American manufacturers taking a sharper interest in re-sourcing – switching away from a dependency on Chinese-made goods and looking for alternative sources elsewhere in the world. Tecma has certainly benefited from these developments.

NOT JUST BIGGER – MORE EFFICIENT!

So, what does this mean for Tecma’s production facility near Girona, Spain? Well, the results are pretty dramatic! In order to meet the growing demand resulting from these positive developments, Tecma’s has expanded the facility by 70% this year in terms of physical space occupied. Initially, the extra space was mainly used to handle the increased volume of materials needed. Quickly, however, the company was able to take advantage of the expanded floorspace to add more equipment and to continue making our production processes even more efficient for our clients.
